Listen to this week’s podcast episode and welcome our daughter Katherine back on the show! She’s joining me today to discuss her experiences in high school. This topic was inspired by her recent evening when she spoke at her youth group. She had some wisdom to share there, and I wanted her to share some of that on the podcast.
In this episode, Kathryn talks about how she was really scared going to senior year. She decided to focus on loving her younger children and find ways to serve them and make them feel loved. She is coming to the end of the year so excited about the friendships she has made, the memories she holds, and the many opportunities to love and spend time with her younger children. It’s been a great year!
Kathryn tells the story of a teacher who inspired her and went out of her way to show kindness to make a difference in her life. That made her want to do the same for her others. She has great advice for parents and other adults who want to connect with their teens and stresses the importance of making them feel their interests and ideas matter. .
She also shares how the idea of selling pizza and sodas at lunchtime led to her plans to major in business in college. This probably wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t decided to make the most of her senior year instead of feeling miserable or just sad.
I hope this conversation with her inspires you to maximize your opportunities and make a difference in the lives of others.
