We’ve talked a lot about the tools you use. We all know open-source tools are cost-saving, technologically superior, and flexible. In an ideal world, everything you use at work could be open source. But to actually implement and manage production-critical services, engineers and business decision makers must be realistic about which tools fit their requirements.
This doesn’t mean everyone should stick to proprietary software like big companies do. Managed service providers have a unique opportunity to leverage open source tools for their business and their customers. The problem is this. where do i start?
