With a large employee base in India, has appointed Ravi Kumar S as its new CEO, effective immediately to succeed Brian Humples.Ravi Kumar joined Cognizant in October 2022 as President, Americas after 20 years at Infosys. Outgoing CEO Brian Humphries, who joined the company in 2019, will remain as Special Advisor until March 2023.
During his long career at Infosys, Ravi Kumar eventually became president in January 2016, leading multiple roles until October 2022.
The change in leadership at Cognizant was a sudden turn of events, but given the company’s subpar performance, there was talk of a CEO change.

Commenting on the management change, Stephen J Rohleder, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said: He brings world-class expertise in consulting, process and technology transformation, demonstrating successful business building. ”
On his appointment, Ravi Kumar said:
The company also announced the election of Stephen J Rohleder, a member of Cognizant’s board of directors from March 2022, as chairman of the board. Former Chairman Michael Patosaros-Fox will remain on the Board as an independent director.
Cognizant, which competes with companies like TCS, Infosys and Wipro, has recently faced revenue challenges. Earnings declined in the July-September quarter of 2022 in a row, marking the second guidance cut.
Fourth quarter and full year 2022 revenues are expected to be approximately $4.8 billion and $19.4 billion, respectively. This compares to previous forecasts of $472-4.77 billion for the fourth quarter and $19.3 billion for the full year.
