of Fes Smart Factory Competition, launched as part of the FSF ecosystem led by EuroMed Fez University in Morocco (UEMF), is a competition for companies to become part of an all-in-one support zone for innovative activities, productivity or Development of new factories for innovative products. By implementing the principles and methods of Industry 4.0, this competition aims to create a unique and integrated industrial ecosystem with the aim of:
- Laying the core of the smart factory Supporting project leaders, start-ups, and pilot model factories that benefit from FSF’s engineering and R&D services to develop 4.0 factories at demonstration scale.
- Leverage the FSF ecosystem Leverage Industry 4.0 concepts to support existing industrial units in the Fez-Meknes region and Morocco to optimize their industrial, environmental and social performance.

The Fez Smart Factory competition is seeking applications from innovative companies participating in any of the following four components of the FSF ecosystem:
- The Fez Smart Factory Accelerator (for startups): A reception area for start-ups with development projects of intelligent industrial units for high value-added and competitive products.
- R&D services for Industry 4.0 (for R&D entities): The Fez Smart Factory competition aims to select five R&D entities to reside in a space dedicated to R&D services in the FSF ecosystem. One entity per industry sector will be selected from among the companies covered by the FSF ecosystem. (see list of focus areas below)
- Engineering services for Industry 4.0 (for engineering companies): The Fez Smart Factory Competition aims to select 10 engineering companies located in a space dedicated to engineering services in the FSF ecosystem. They are selected based on technology and use case, from predictive maintenance to optimal energy management to cloud solutions and more. (see list of focus areas below)
- Business Center 4.0 (for small businesses and large enterprises): This component of the FSF ecosystem provides residential space for SMEs and large companies and industrial units wishing to invest in Morocco in the field of Industry 4.0.
In addition, the FSF ecosystem consists of the following components, which successful applicants can access and interact with at a later stage:
- of 4.0 Incubator Responsible for carrying out missions related to incubation of intelligent industrial unit development projects for high value-added and competitive products.
- dedicated space Setting up an innovative Industrial 4.0 unit on a demonstration scale Developed by a startup.
- of Rapid Prototyping Center (Additive Manufacturing Lab):
- Access to additive manufacturing machines for metal, plastic, ceramic and concrete materials.
- Owned by UEMF, the center will provide prototyping services to 4.0 Incubator project leaders, Accelerator 4.0 startups, engineering firms, and R&D entities.
- pilot model factory 4.0: This Factory School is run by the Digital Development Authority in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, UEMF and the FSF Consortium, with the main mission of training in Industry 4.0 technologies and concepts. Contribute to assisting FSF beneficiaries in selection and implementation.

Companies selected for the next stage within the FSF ecosystem will sign a settlement agreement with the “FSF INDUSTRY” that defines the commitments of each party.
