Unfortunately, this year’s federal income tax refund is expected to be smaller for millions of Americans.
Wouldn’t it be nice to double the refund amount?
that’s the idea behind new sweepstakes contest From Jackson Hewitt, the second largest tax filing firm in the United States (the largest is H&R Block).
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the company is hosting a weekly “Double Your Refund” sweepstakes from now through April 2nd. You don’t even have to file taxes with Jackson Hewitt to enter the draw.
Over 12 weeks, 40 grand prize winners will receive up to $15,000 in federal tax refunds. The minimum prize for winning is $1,500, even without a large payout.
Additionally, 40 runners-up will be randomly selected each week to win $400 each. How about a nice tax season surprise?
Pay your taxes to enter sweepstakes
There are two ways to enter the Sweepstakes, and each person can enter only once.
The easiest way is to have Jackson Hewitt, who prepares 2 million tax returns annually in 5,600 locations across the United States, file your income tax. That way you will automatically enter the contest.
But maybe you’re paying your own taxes instead. Hey, no problem! In fact, here’s the ultimate guide to filing your taxes in 2023.
There is another way to enter the sweepstakes and you don’t have to be a Jackson Hewitt customer. However, you have to physically mail something — and you have to pay taxes.
You are entry by emailby the Monday of the week following the week in which you file your federal tax return.
This is a kind of way to encourage early tax filing. Winners will be randomly selected each week during the 12-week Sweepstakes Period. So the sooner you enter, the better your chances of winning.
The contest continues until April 2nd. The IRS said he started filing his tax returns on January 23rd, and this year’s tax deadline is Tuesday, April 18th. Here’s a guide to federal tax deadlines for 2023.
