Every year we host a WordPress event. different cities around the world, everyone from content creators to core software committers come together to learn, network, and contribute to the open source WordPress project. This project is the software platform that powers 43% of all websites.
Additionally, the WordCamp community provides much of the power behind the software, providing support and knowledge to each other as the platform continues to evolve. These pinnacle events are held annually in Asia, Europe and North America and hold major continental spaces for all skill sets to participate and contribute.

Attendees explore Athens, Greece for WCEU 2023
June in Athens is like stepping into a time machine filled with history, good food and positive energy. Participants will experience a wonderful blend of cultures past and present against the backdrop of the beautiful scenery of the Acropolis. The event will be held at the Megaron Athens International Conference Center, one of the capital’s largest venues and central to the city’s various historic buildings.
Here, participants can stroll the crowded streets, watch street performers for entertainment, and soak up the enticing aromas of local Greek cafes and food stalls. The Aegean Sea also provides an ideal setting for leisurely strolls along the beach promenade.
Contributor Day features new workshops for kids
This year, WordPress aims to provide a platform where individuals of all ages can express themselves. WordCamp Europe includes special features Children’s workshop During Contributor Day, we will host a session to introduce WordPress to the younger generation.
This workshop gives children the chance to build their own website using WordPress. Volunteers will spend her three hours helping her set up a website, choose a theme, and develop the skills to create different types of content.
Session Topic Focuses on “Powering the Web”
The theme of this year’s WCEU event is centered around ‘Empowering the Web’.will be contacted by Industry Experts and Community Leaders They will discuss topics such as:

WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg will also be speaking about theme variations and the platform’s 20th anniversary in a presentation on the final day of the event.
WP Connect Introduces New Discussion Spaces
this year, WP Connect added a dedicated space for attendees to socialize over coffee and chat about various topics. Join us from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM (EEST) on Day 1 to hear from the following speakers:
In this discussion, the above speakers will focus on: five to the future: How can someone become a sponsored contributor, and how can a company donate their employees to the WP project.

WordPress Contributor Days are not to be missed, whether it’s an international flagship WordCamp or a smaller city-level event (even online). WordPress is open source software, so anyone can see and change the code. Individuals creating software can:

- Upload a video of your WordPress event
The best part is that you can participate by joining WP. team It doesn’t matter if you attend in person or via remote access at Contributor Day. Read on to find out how to navigate Contributor Day live at the event or from anywhere in the world.
How to join directly:
contributor day It is open to attendees who have pre-registered for the event. The day begins with a team representative briefly sharing what the team does on a regular basis and what they are working on for the day. Teams are divided into separate tables and rooms to get to know and interact with participants.
By the afternoon, a summary of what happened that day will be shared with all attendees. This is a great opportunity to make WordPress accessible to everyone and meet people who can contribute in a way that fits your skill set.

How to participate online:
Members of the WordPress community can participate in Contributor Day remotely by following the Make WordPress Slack channel. To get started, you’ll need to make sure you have a WordPress account and a Slack account, so be sure to visit our guidelines and read how to set it up beforehand. here.
Once you’ve completed all the preparatory work above, on your day, follow these three steps:
- Join our Slack channel #contributor-day at 9:30am EEST
- Find a team you want to partner with and join their coordination channel
- Follow our channel for additional guidance
Feel free to chat or ask other team members questions along the way. And remember everyone wants connection. Don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and opinions in chat. You may have insights that others can benefit from.

Register for workshop For direct participants, it will be a great experience solving practical problems in a group environment. Our general workshop experience ranges from coding, design, marketing strategy and planning.
If you plan to attend, be sure to register in advance (due to limited seating) and be aware of the following guidelines:
- Registration will take place on Contributor Day at 2:00 PM (EEST).
- Workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis (expect to arrive in advance).
- Each participant can only register for a maximum of 3 workshop sessions
- Please make sure you meet prerequisite (Make sure all necessary tools and software are loaded before registering)
