Forums let you subscribe to relevant content Stay up-to-date with the latest news in your area of interest and share your know-how with others by providing tags and subscriptions that notify you about topics of interest.

This will bring up the next feature, development tips. Looking for a shortcut or solution to a problem you’re having? Your fellow developers may have already shared helpful articles. Maybe you have a great blog idea, or maybe you just solved a problem that’s been plaguing you. Share your post and help your friends. Plus, every time he shares a tip, he gains more visibility in the community (especially those who work at his Akamai) and climbs up the leaderboards.




Event calendar
It can be difficult to keep track of all developer events for a given month. Developer forums help you find and participate in relevant events. You can also see if others in your community are joining. Can’t find an event you’re attending? Add it directly and let others know. This is for virtual and in-person events. Are you planning to stream? Embed the stream in your event post so others can join directly from the forums. Planning to speak at an event or attend a conference? Post your event and connect with other developers online or in the field.




badges and leaderboards
Helping others is rewarding in itself, but we’ve got a way to celebrate your efforts. Earn badges and earn leaderboard points for your contributions.
Some badges are earned automatically, such as when you like your first post. Staff will assign other badges. Some badges can identify program members or provide additional valuable information. Find fellow Green Light programs and discover other initiatives by checking your badges. Below is an example of a forum profile page. This developer is a Developer Champion and has a badge.




You can now click on badges for more information. In the description below, you can see that Developer Champion is his Akamai employee dedicated to helping developers. Community Her members with this badge can be trusted to provide useful articles and support you.




Certain activities earn you ‘Cheers’, which are points used to update the community leaderboard. Leaderboards are therefore a good indicator of who in the community is a master developer. Click on the avatar of the member with the most cheers to see their details and see their latest posts. who knows? Maybe you’ll rise to the top and grab the attention of others. We’re about to launch an external champions program, so we’re always looking to see who’s the most active (more on that later).




greenlight and partner space
The Green Light Beta Program and Linode Partner Program have spaces on the forums. Green Light members can use this space to share feedback on the latest betas, and partners can connect with other partner program members.
