March Madness had the best results in college basketball and this year torque magazine‘s 8th Annual Plugin Madness Contest is here to do the same for WordPress. Bracket-style competitions pit the best plugins from across the WordPress ecosystem against each other to find the plugins that the community likes the most.
Over 60,000 plugins available WordPress plugin repository, Plugin Madness sheds light on the brilliant 64. All of them are nominated and voted on by the WordPress community until only one winner remains. All of these plugins help developers find the flexibility they need to build powerful WordPress sites. Selected candidates are divided into four launch categories: marketing, optimization, maintenance, and e-commerce.
The past few years have seen the biggest creators take home trophies in the WordPress plugin repository.League of Legends winners include smash, FluentCRMand the first-ever Plugin Madness Winner: Advanced custom fields (ACF).Last year, a Cinderella story unfolded while participating for the first time. All plugins nominated for Plugin Madness must meet the following requirements:
- The plugin is WordPress plugin repository.
- The plugin should be compatible with WordPress version 5.7 (or later).
- The plugin must have been updated within the last 12 months.

Week 1 of the tournament will begin on Monday, February 27th, and votes will reset every Monday. Each week, plug-in players will drop from his 64 to 32, 16 to 8, and his final four will face off in late March, with the championship lineup facing off on his Monday, April 3rd. thus cutting the competition in half. The winning plugin will be announced on his April 17th, 2023.
