Believe it or not, you can go to Disneyland if it’s not crowded.

For anyone who has been there, this may seem impossible. It may seem so, especially to those who have only visited on weekends or in the summer. But congestion at Disney parks has its ups and downs. The best time to visit Disneyland depends on your travel preferences, who you’re traveling with, and your budget.

Let’s see when is best for you, regardless of your travel situation.

Beginner’s Guide

As you can imagine, Disneyland Park is the original. The park opened in 1955. sleeping beauty castle It also includes fan favorites such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion.

Meanwhile, Disney California Adventure Park opened in 2001. Originally modeled after various landscapes found within California, it has since undergone a major re-theme and now includes land dedicated to the film Cars. A pier inspired by Pixar movies.

If it’s your first visit, you’ll want to do your best to experience everything. It is recommended that each park take her one day and at least two days.

To make the most of your time, we recommend considering non-peak hours when the resort is less crowded. In general, Disney will be especially busy and crowded during the following periods:

  • Spring Break: Usually late March and April.

  • Weekend holidays: Memorial Day and Labor Day.

  • Summer: Mid-June to end of August.

  • Halloween and October weekends.

  • Winter vacation: Late December to New Year’s Day.

There may be other busy periods outside of these periods, but these are big periods to avoid. Congestion can be difficult to deal with and you’ll probably end up paying a premium. Hotel and accommodation.

family friendly

If your child is of school age, the time they can go to Disneyland may be limited. That means you may end up going to the park during peak hours.

You can’t avoid crowds, but sometimes it’s better than other times.

This is thanks to some special events held by Disneyland. These include Princess Nights and Oogie Boogie Bash. Both take place after the park closes (the park closes early to accommodate these parties).

The Oogie Boogie Bash is especially popular with children because of the unlimited trick or treat. There are also character meet-and-greets, special parades, and the ability to ride all standard vehicles.

For those who hate crowds

Listen, we hate crowds too. There’s a reason an entire website is dedicated to figuring out when Disneyland gets busy. If so, by all means visit only during the off-season.

It’s not often that the Disneyland Resort is nearly empty, but it can be infinitesimally empty.

This includes many weekdays throughout the year, especially in January, February and March.

It’s also relatively empty at the end of August, before the big crowds hit Labor Day weekend. The entire month of September is empty, as are the two weeks after Thanksgiving and before winter break begins.

for the thrifty traveler

A visit to Disneyland can be expensive, especially if you have to travel from out of town. Disneyland has a dynamic pricing structure that charges between $104 and $179 for day tickets.

Check our price calendar to find the cheapest dates. Usually, the periods of lowest demand, which means the lowest flight prices, are also the lowest cash prices for flights and hotels.

You may also consider using points and miles to keep costs down. There are several hotel chains within walking distance of Disneyland. Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and IHGmaking it easier to redeem your points.

Disneyland is located near six Southern California airports, making it easy to find flights from all major airlines. With so many options, it’s not difficult to find ways to redeem miles.

For adults

Disneyland isn’t just for kids. While many of the attractions are for younger children, Disneyland also has activities for adults. Disney California Adventure is a perfect example, with sophisticated restaurants and a wide selection of beverages.

The park also hosts regular festivals with pop-up pavilions throughout the year. The pavilion, which offers food and drinks for a limited time, is popular with adult parties.

Disneyland also hosts adult-friendly evenings like Sweetheart Night, Throwback Night, Pride Night, and Star Wars Night.

Roundup of the best times to visit Disneyland

The best time to visit Disneyland depends on who you’re traveling with, your preferred travel style, and your budget. After all, you don’t have to look for the same entertainment options as you do with your adult friends as you would when traveling with children.

No matter when you decide to take a trip to Disneyland, it’s always okay. Don’t forget to buy churros.
