Saved me thousands of hours and helped me create more than I could
Raised by a military father, Discipline, Organization, and Compartmentalization come easy
And if there’s one word that perfectly defines me, it’s “lists.” If my name wasn’t Ripika, it would have been Ristica…bad joke…pbbt
I’m a list person. I have a list of virtually everything. i’m obsessed with them. Please name it. I have that list.
Things I need to pick/buy, who’s birthday this month, my daughter’s lunch options, music playlists [english funky, Sufi, workout, + 4 other]my upcoming vacation plans……I can go a lot more.
No wonder my nature had lists of everything when I started my writing career, but they were no longer on paper.
But what started out as a product of habit quickly turned into a lifesaver and a time saver. These files became my lifeblood as I expanded my content generation.
So if you are a writer, especially if you are in the honeymoon phase of writing, this is the perfect time to start organizing your work. And for those who have already traveled some distance, there is no need to break a sweat. start anyway.
Let’s dig in to reveal it all.
Document type: Google Sheets
I love headlines. It’s no surprise that this is coming. So what’s going on in the headline department?
a) my headline template:
We all know how long it takes to write a good headline. hell lot. So it only makes sense to reuse it, right? This sheet stores all heading templates for future reference.
pro tips: Do not publish two headlines that are very close to each other using the same template. It sounds repetitive, but readers will notice it.
b) Other Headings:
No, it’s not stealing. You can collect headlines of other people you like and think you can work on. I’m not saying you should copy the whole thing. template Please keep it.
c) LinkedIn Opening Line:
Again, these are just headlines, but there’s more than that ‘Hooky. Hide them in a sheet in this file for reuse.
d) Power word:
Power Words add a powerful, evocative “punch” to your headlines, making them easier to click. Having such words on hand is a sexy cheat code.
Here’s another Excel sheet with a nearly exhaustive list of power words I use in my headlines that saves me tons of time.
Suppose we want an alternative power word for “safe”. My sheet shows that I can choose “Research Backed”, “Certified”, “No Worries”, “Failproof”, etc. Similarly, power words can be selected for many other terms as well.

This is the second most important go-to seat. I have a lot of ideas and have never encountered writer’s block.
Burnout, yes. Block, never.
Frankly, my idea dumps are scattered all over the house — of Kitchen counter doodle pad, writing notebook, two WhatsApp groups [LinkedIn breadcrumbs and Writing muse].
But in the end it all goes into my idea warehouse — idea dump.
This broadly includes:
- medium lighting ideas
- Linkedin Post Ideas
But here’s a thing or two that can help you easily navigate this land of ideas:
a) I as detailed as possible about ideas. A simple line like — Numbers are for convenience only. Instead of defining things in terms of numbers, You might get confused later on about the exact context I had in mind. So I go like this:
Numbers are for convenience only. Don’t start defining things by numbers/low likes, low followers, no rushed conclusions, mixed success on different platforms, mental bar charts…
I know it’s confusing to you, but when I read it later, my mind immediately goes back to my original thought process.
b) cleansing the dump: When you become a creator, ideas come to you. But piling them up is a dangerous act.
So once you’ve implemented and used an idea, don’t forget to remove it from the list. Then copy the link to the final product in the backup file (more on this later).

As I said, collate the finished product and keep it handy.
I have a content planner that I use on Medium and LinkedIn.
what’s in it?
Everything — long and short.Be careful with everything I publish Categorized, assigned and organized in neat rows and columns.
If you come and ask me, Lipica, can you pull out the headline story that mentioned the power word a year ago? can.
Benefits of using Content Planner:
Having your content documented and at your fingertips has many advantages.
- Internal link in story: No more digging around for old stories the next time you relink them. It’s easy if you set the right filters on the file.
- diversion: If you intend to stay here for the long term, you can’t hesitate to convert. It’s a lifesaver. Repurposing is easy if you have an old story handy. Otherwise… Lord, save your soul…
- Assignment of future projects: My articles are categorized into headline books, medium books, and online courses. So when I join a project, I just filter what’s assigned and go to work.
Document Type: Various
Well, this makes it unique for everyone. However, it is highly recommended that everyone have one.
This is one or more documents that should be created in parallel with normal content creation.
A product you envision creating in the future, branding yourself as a creator, and intending to sell/market — a one-time thing.
It can be anything from ebooks, journals, online courses, even a quick edit of an essay.
For me, it’s my headline ebook and LinkedIn guide.and 1 free digital product It’s always in the pipeline.
Think of this like putting a coin in a piggy bank when saving up to buy your dream sneakers.
Keep creating content and adding mass to that dream project. Before you know it, you have to start processing a fair amount of data.
Deadlines, writer’s block, distractions, and self-doubt can derail even the most motivated and disciplined writer after the initial excitement of starting a new writing project wears off. there is.
Before long, you are down the rabbit hole.
I talk about productivity a lot because after the honeymoon period of being a newcomer, it’s hellish looseness in a writer’s life.
Having a system around you will ensure that you have things under control, maintaining your productivity and momentum.
