Afternic, GoDaddy’s aftermarket platform, is one of the most popular and stable places to sell domains, partly because the company’s team of brokers work tirelessly behind the scenes.
One of the most requested features from Afternic users is greater transparency and communication between company brokers and domain name sellers.
Today, Afternic announced the ability to offer Lead Center, a place where sellers and brokers interact.
What is a lead center?
Available through the Afternic 2.0 beta program, the Lead Center is the focal point of interaction between domain sellers and GoDaddy’s team of brokers.
When a sales lead arrives at Afternic via a landing page, registrar, or phone, brokers start converting the lead into a sale.
Previously, domain sellers had to rely on email communication with brokers. Getting information about lead status, latest offers, and even lead sources has never been easier.
The Lead Center now provides sellers with a dedicated section for reviewing all inbound inquiries and offers that Afternic Brokers are working on.
Sellers can also interact with their brokers, check the status of each inquiry, and see what actions the broker has taken so far.
In other words, the lead center is where you can talk to brokers, accept inbound offers, send counter offers, and update prices.
For both casual and regular Afternic sellers, this will be an important part of the platform.
Six characteristics of lead centers
To access the Lead Center, Afternic 2.0 Beta DashboardFrom the menu on the left there is a link to the Lead Center. Here are six notable features of Afternic’s new Lead Center.
1. Overview of Lead Center

When you first open the Lead Center, you’ll see a simple dashboard that alerts you to leads that need action. When the broker starts processing the seller’s inbound lead, the data table is populated.
In the meantime, a row of links at the top of the page lets you quickly navigate between leads in different stages, from leads needing attention to leads converted to sales.
The three most important links for sellers are:
- Needs Attention – For example, if the broker requires the seller to accept or decline an offer, the lead will appear under the Needs Attention tab.
- Favorites – There is a heart icon next to each lead on your lead dashboard. Clicking this will add the lead to your Favorites tab for easy tracking of the lead.
- In Progress – These are leads that the broker is actively working on and may require your attention in the future.
2. Broker activity panel

If your dashboard already contains inbound lead data, you can click the lead’s domain name on the left.
Here are the main features of Lead Center. From this page, you can see the latest updates from the lead’s broker.
From qualifying leads to sharing the latest offers, the Broker Activity Panel provides transparency and fast communication between sellers and brokers.
On the right side of the Broker Activity Panel is the Lead Summary section, which provides quick basic information about the lead status.
3. Send message to broker
Within the Broker activity panel, sellers can click the Message Broker button to quickly communicate with their broker. After sending a message to the broker, all communication between the seller and the broker will be displayed in the broker activity panel.
4. Set your price
If a domain name is inquired and there is no list price or minimum price, the broker will ask the seller to update this pricing so that the broker has parameters to work with.
Luckily, updating the list price or floor price can be done from the broker activity panel.
Updating the list or floor price here will also update the list price in Afternic.
5. Accept or Rebut
When a broker presents an offer to a seller, there are two options. accept or oppose an offer. As you can see from the screenshot above, it’s easy to take action on offers from the broker activity panel.
The seller has the option to send a message to the broker with either accepting or rejecting the offer.
6. Customizable columns
As with the rest of Afternic 2.0, you can change the workspace by adjusting the columns displayed.

These two columns provide a quick overview of prospects with eligible offers and indicate that the intermediary is processing the prospect.
