Creator management platform Animeta plans to onboard about 200 exclusive creators in India, Southeast Asia and the US this year. The company also aims to hire around 50 influencers by the end of April.
Creators will be onboarded from 16 categories including Automotive, People & Vlogs, Travel, Food & Beverage. Exclusive creators participate in anime meta in a 50/50 partnership. The platform does not expect participation from creators creating content in “edgy” categories such as music, politics, and news.
“Creator Partners are selected based on a thorough quantitative assessment of their genre and category. Qualitative analysis on growth potential, longevity, repeat value, extent of innovation/category disruption, etc.” Potnis, Animeta’s CEO, told YourStory in a conversation.
Founded in February, Singapore-based Animeta is looking to bring studio models into the creator economy space. The company was founded by Anish Mehta, former CEO of animation studio Cosmos-Maya, and uses artificial intelligence (AI) for its creator tech platform. It also helps creators with analytics and backend support.
“We want creators to remain creators and not have to be business owners,” Potnis said. The platform is currently in the testing stage and aims to launch in 2024.
The platform has attracted founding investment from Rajesh Kamat, Managing Director of KKR’s Media & Entertainment Fund (Emerald Media), and Sameer Manchanda, founder of Den Network.
Beyond India, Animeta targets creator economies in Southeast Asia and the US.
