Artemis has appointed Alex Stanik of JP Morgan Asset Management’s International Equities Group as Head of Global Equities to refresh its Global Equities team.
He will succeed Simon Edelsten, a global equity fund manager who is leaving the company.
Edelsten, who manages Midwind International Investment Trust and the open-ended Artemis Global Select Fund, will leave the fund boutique at the end of 2023.
To ensure a smooth transition, Mr. Edelsten will continue to manage the funds alongside Mr. Stanich, who will join Artemis on March 1.
He spent seven years at JP Morgan, where he led global equity funds, including the Global Unconstrained Equity Fund, on the Global Specialist Team.
Prior to that, he was Head of Global Equities at River & Mercantile, a division he founded in 2009.
Alex Illingworth, who co-manages Mid Wynd and Artemis Global Select vehicles with Edelsten, will leave Artemis at the end of February.
The firm said it would soon announce the appointment of two other new members of its global equity team.
Artemis Chief Investment Officer Paras Anand said:
“He and his new team will bring additional insight and expertise to the business while leveraging the research and stock selection skills of the wider Artemis equity team to ensure that investors continue to be properly served. I guarantee you.”
“Simon Edelsten and I have very similar investment styles and like many of the same stocks,” Stanick said. I look forward to doing it.”
