French startup Granito We build all-in-one software-as-a-service products focused on small construction companies. And since I first covered the company, it has grown quite a bit as it has tripled its revenue in the last six months.
As such, the startup has raised an €8 million Series A round ($8.7 million at today’s exchange rates), with two lead investors once again leading the round — point nine and foundationIn fact, Graneet told me this is Point Nine’s first lead investment in a series A round. This is an interesting data point. achievement When it comes to investing in B2B SaaS.
Several business angels have also invested in Granito, including Axeleo Capital, RAISE Sherpas philanthropic company Phiture, and Spendesk’s Rodolphe Ardant, Algolia co-founder Nicolas Dessaigne and TravelPerk’s JC Taunay-Bucalo.
Graneet is vertical SaaS. In short, the startup builds products specifically designed to address the needs of specific industries. Due to its founder’s background, Granito focuses on construction companies.
This is an interesting choice as there is a long tail of smaller construction firms that don’t always have the right tools to track projects, generate quotes, manage team members and handle subcontractor relationships. So Granito is building a kind of mini ERP for SMBs in the construction industry. No large construction company will switch to Graneet, but if you’re running a small company, it doesn’t make sense to use a full-fledged ERP.
Construction work typically takes months, making it difficult to track margins at any given time. The client pays in multiple tranches and the construction company spends the money incrementally. Having a co-pilot like Granito can improve a construction company’s planning strategy.
“Over the past two years, we have worked hand-in-hand with our clients and prospects to build a solution that is powerful yet extremely easy to use. Granito is now mature enough to be a product that can accelerate customer acquisition. Proven to do so, we continue to better serve our customers with more possibilities within our products.
In addition to getting more customers, Graneet has a long roadmap ahead. Once the platform is actively used by more construction companies, Graneet will be able to offer additional services such as financial products and tight integration with third-party services. In other words, the start-up has struck a chord with digitization and an industry that could benefit from modern software tools.
