As to what made the three winners stand out, the judges variously praised their unique branding, social conscience and sense of community building.
Sage executive Kirsty Waller praised Cake or Death’s unique identity—the focus on one product—working well.
Tox-Altua, meanwhile, said Babudor’s business model of reusing obsolete baby products was “innovative and needed”. “The market for baby products is growing, but this also means more waste is possible,” said Arthur. “Good baby products should not be thrown away or added to landfills. .”
